Our cowhides are hand selected at the tannery. Cowhide rugs are made from a high-quality natural material. Occasional irregularities, little scars, fire brands and small patches are due to leather's natural finish and should be regarded as a quality feature while also underlining its natural origin.
Up keeping of hair-on hides is simple and hassle free. Vacuuming can be done from time to time to remove dust and loose hair. In case of any spillage on the hide, wiping with a wet cloth should do the job. In case of very humid environments, it is recommended to lay the hide out in the sun once or twice a month.
A cowhide rug is a byproduct of the meat industry. No cow is harvested solely for the hide so by trading in cowhides we are only making use of secondary part of an animal that was raised for its meat.
